What do you love about the area?

We love the view of the lake across the street that is surrounded by a state wildlife management area so it will never be obstructed. We love the sunrises and sunsets from the deck in the morning and the living room in the evening. In fall, the colors of the trees in our yard and the neighborhood are breathtaking. We love the safety we have in our neighborhood and all the young families that enjoy the same. We love the wildlife and flora that dot the property and neighborhood. We have seen so many different animals including deer, pheasants, bald eagles, and foxes.


What are some great things about Forest Lake?: The things we love about Forest Lake are all the great parks and lakes in the area. Shawn Silvera Memorial park is in our neighborhood and is a walkable distance. We love the many small businesses that operate in town and enjoy our Crossfit gym the most. We love the active community of citizens in Forest Lake. We love the small town feel of Forest lake and that it is close to the Cities so we can still go to "Big City" events.


What restaurants are nearby?: We love to eat dinner at Pi Pizza, the Meet Market, Norman Quacks, and Key's Cafe. These restaurants are part of the small businesses that make Forest Lake so great. We enjoy family nights out to Don Julio's Mexican restaurant, Applebee’s or Perkins as well.


What grocery stores or nearby shopping if there?: We do the majority of our grocery shopping at Cub Foods and enjoy the fresh produce and quality meats they have available. Aldi is also in town and has great prices on organic produce and meats as well. Costco and Sam’s club are a short drive away and we get much of our nonperishable items from these places.


Information about the schools in our area: North Lakes academy and Columbus elementary are both solid schools with small class sizes. Our children have excelled in all areas from the attention and curriculum they receive from both schools.


What do you do for interests and hobbies near the property?: We enjoy fishing the many nearby lakes either through the ice or on the open water. We enjoy taking strolls through the neighborhood with the kids and taking them to the nearby park for playtime. We enjoy being able to go to the cities for concerts year round.

Key points about the house that we were drawn to when we first looked at the home: We had this home built in 2003 on a large lot, giving us a spacious back yard. The bedrooms are all large and can accommodate king size beds if so desired. The basement was finished to include a huge family room and a craft room that could easily become a lower level master suite as it connects to the adjoining full bathroom.
